Most people find that their wireless network's range doesn’t meet their expectations. Sometimes it's radio interference, sometimes it's objects restricting the wireless signal.

In all situations, there are some great ways to improve the wireless router's wifi signal range. And even how to improve it via WDS.

• Disconnect the stock antennas from the Wi-Fi router. Connect the pigtail cable to the antenna jack on the back side of the router.

• Connect the one side of the pigtail cable to an Omni directional antenna. Ensure that it is mounted this antenna so that it is free standing away from obstructions.

• Flash the router with optional firmware. There are various firmwares for all types of routers. Ensure to use Google to search the best router.

Under the firmware, there are generally choices to boost the power of the wireless router’s signal. This is known as "transmit power, signal power, or xmit power". Ensure to boost this to the preferable height.

• Can also include different access point through WDS. To accomplish this, 2routers setup in WDS modest required. Both wireless routers will require being setup as an AP or "access point", and they will both require being on various IP's in the same subnet.

Every router requires the same WEP or WPA wireless encryption password setup. These must be EXACTLY the same.

Below the WDS settings on Router 1, plus set the wireless MAC address information of router 2. Below router 2's WDS settings as well as set the wireless MAC address details of router 1. This will let 2 Access Points to work on one network, thus advance the wireless range.
