For maintaining big number of security options and configuration settings, Windows Server 2003 offers Security Templates. Security templates can be made and changed with Security Templates snap in for Microsoft Management Console. To add snap-in to MMC, follow the given tips.
· Go to Start, select Run, in enter mmc, and hit OK.
· From File menu, select Add/Remove Snap-In.
· Under Add Standalone Snap-In screen, select Security Templates, select Add and Close tabs.
· From Add or Remove Snap-In option, press “OK”.
· In console tree, increase Security Templates and %systemroot%\Security\Templates folder to display an initial list of templates. These are predefined templates that can be modified for companies’ particular requirements. While a new template is made, it is contained to this list. Select any preloaded policies, and right pane of the console displays security places existing for configuration.
