Thread: Linksys Router Keeps Dropping

This is my fifth router in two yrs. Whether wired or wireless, we have two desktops, one Mac laptop and three Windows, but it keeps dropping. The ISP has come in and given me a new modem and changed all the wires. Keeps dropping and after five minutes will come back up again.

Have you tried connecting a computer directly to the router for troubleshooting purposes?

There are two types of desktop PCs connected to the computer, along with all other laptops, as wireless continues to fall, even in the same room. Someone asked me to create my router and assign a static IP on all computers.

Static IP that does not solve your disconnecting problem. If you stay connected while hard wired, but get on the wireless turned off, that has nothing to do with the modem or cables. I would like to start looking for something that the production of EMF as fluorescent lamps, motors, cordless phones, other electronic equipment, the neighbors with ham radios, etc.
