For online connectivity, Wi Fi is no longer a niche technology, its now as common as Bluetooth, GPRS and other networking technologies in the home segment. The ease of use ofWi-Fi switches has aslo helped in home user adoption .The all-white plastic moulded NWA-1100 looks neat. On the front, there are a couple of multicoloured LED's indicating status ofWi-Fi and the network. To Easy to manage and simple user interface keep things simple, there are no buttons on the body, only two removable antennas are present with ports for connecting network cables.

Setting up the machine is absolutely effortless. After connecting the power cable you have to connect the network cable from the computer to NWA-1100 and within few seconds the status LED's indicate detection of the device as well as the network. After that, launch the browser and enter the IP address and password mentioned on the instrument.



The Zyxel NWA-1100 is based on IEEE 802.11 standard. To keep the network secure it supports WPA, WEP and the even AES standards. On the performance front, we tested the machine by sending 100MB data from a netbook through the switch to a connected PC, we were impressed with the speed, which was around 24MBPS. In the reverse case, the same amount of data took aboit a minute, which is quite good.

Zyxel claims to provide 150 meter of indoor coverage and 500 meter of outdoor coverage. Overall Zyxel NWA-1100 is a smart purchase for implementing a hi-speed wireless network.
