Windows Xp and Vista have built in functionality for controlling wireless adapter and simply linking to available wireless entrée point or router.


Instructions

  • Put wireless network icon in system tray. The icon will appear like computer screen with radio waves geminating from it or like two computer screens one behind other, depending version of Windows.

  • Tick on that icon, then click "Connect to a Network" or "Connect or Disconnect" again depending version of Windows. This will take up network association dialogue with list of available networks.

  • Choose your Belkin router from list of accessible networks, and click "Connect." Windows will then settle connection between adapter and wireless router, and notify when connection is complete.
