In large networks, IP addresses need to be distributed meticulously, so that each computer is allotted a unique IP address and there is no collision. With DHCP, IP addresses are automatically allotted and you don't have to do any additional settings. All you need to do is just connect to a network. Click on Setup > Basic Setup. In the Network setup section, enable DHCP server. Enter a starting IP for the computers on your network, and an ending range. For example, 192 . 168 . 1 . 2 to 192 . 168 . 1 . 6. All the computers that you will connect to the router are allotted IPs within this range. Click on Save Settings once you are done.
