One of the most important uses of a network is to be able to share resources and there is no larger or better network, than the Internet. The advantage of using a router is that you do not need a dedicated computer to make the connec¬tion, and then share the connec¬tion through a software gateway.

To share your Internet con¬nection, go to Setup > Basic Setup in the router's Web inter¬face. Click on the dropdown menu and choose from the available settings. PPPoE is one of the most commonly used methods to connect to the ISP. When prompted, enter the user name and password for your Internet connection in the respective fields.

Some ISPs lock the user account to the IP and the MAC address of the client computer. However, you can clone your computer's MAC address on most routers. Click on Setup > MAC Address Clone and click the Clone my PC's MAC button. You can also manually enter a MAC Address.

Click on the Keep Alive: Redial Period radio button and enter a value. This way, if a connection is dropped, it redials in the entered period. To check the status of the connection, go to Status > Router. You can also dial or disconnect from the ISP from this section .
