Thread: Is wireless usb better than an usb cable

I'd like to utilize Hauppauge HD pvr to record HD videos from cable. My TV is on the other side of my room so I have to options, run a 20 foot usb cable from the HD pvr to my PC, or uses a wireless usb adapter and sends the signal to my PC. It's such a short run and I only need 13.5mbs max, so does it matter? If anyone has ideas or hardware idea let me know. one time I figure this out I'll put jointly my PC to encode hd video as fast as possible.

If you want of superior quality uninterrupted, a wired system would be good. If you have acquire something as high speed wireless LIKE Wireless then go with that.

For video supply you wouldn't want something else but being hardwired while 20ft of usb cord look a bit long and would likely see a better amount of signal loss due to the resistance factor and the pull down on the usb bus somewhat. I still supply live cable TV into a tuner card by way of a VCR at the current time to catch live news or tape thing for afterward viewing

The 20ft length however can be cut by connect in a usb hub first for the extend cord to connect into providing the hub's own self-sufficient present rather than direct off of the usb bus where you wouldn't lose the present strength from a loss there. Some of those have cords longer then the 3ft cord built-in or you might replacement a 6ft. cord instead even cutting the longer cord from 20 down to 14ft.

I wasn't confirming how wireless usb works is but if I want 1080i video then a hardwired connection would make the most logic.

I had to mail my signal 48ft. to three dissimilar Locations. The USB cable was crap over that distance. The failure signal was major. The wireless router worked ok but nothing worked plus a Wireless AV sender obtainable.

Any idea as to what do with my major concern is when I go on break. I don't want my cat to make a snack out of the 20foot usb addition on my bedroom floor.

The distance you have to send the indication is simple as any brand can do that. But do think about to how many stations you may send it in the upcoming, if more than one then you may be purchasing one that can send the signal to many stations.
